poem 61

they take no time but all the time they take

a pile of leaves left without a rake

as they rake you over the coals

all the while exposing the holes

in their illogical interpretations

they put forth as reparations

for those of us who are concerned

about that and this sort of thing

a shadow of what once never was

becomes not what it never is

tie down the head of the hatchet

so it will not fly off the handle

like your fathers tempest temper

which barely tempers a tempest

with all the time that they take

leaving you in the cold without a blanket

well crafted. If you are into “putting down the Man” this to be a rally point.
